Nita Smith, Branch Executive Director, nsmith@positiveplace.org

Nita has been a Boys & Girls Club professional for 25+ years.  She started her career back in 1983 as a Program Director for the Highline Club and accepted a transfer to Kirkland when they opened up their new club in 1988.  As Operations Director her accomplishments included having one of her teens named as 1990 National Youth of the Year and winning many BGCA Program Excellence awards for innovative program design and implementation.   After fulfilling her goals at the Kirkland Branch Nita moved onto become the Executive Director at the Hillsboro Boys & Girls Club in OR where she completed a capital campaign and remodeled a former DSHS facility to become the Hillsboro Boys & Girls Club.  She developed a partnership with the law enforcement council and opened up seven Night Court locations within the county and a partnership with the local school district to accommodate an alternative middle school in the same location.  Nita moved on and in the coming years became the Chief Professional Officer for the BGClubs of Carlsbad, NM; BGClubs of Santa Maria Valley, CA; and BGClubs of Coastal Carolina in North Carolina.  Her accomplishments as a CPO include various successful capital campaigns to remodel facilities and also brand new Boys & Girls Clubs, expanding operations from single county to multiple county operations, and developing unique partnerships with school districts, police departments, other non-profits, churches, etc.  She has facilitated trainings all over the country as a National Trainer for BGCA and has presented at various conferences/trainings for BGCA on the topics of membership outreach, personnel management, career development,  program excellence and developing successful capital campaigns.  She is a member of the Boys & Girls Club Professional Association and also a member of the Academy at the Executive level.  Nita lives in Seattle with her partner Lisa and 16 year-old-daughter, and in her spare time enjoys playing softball.

     
Meghan Sweet, Associate Executive Director, msweet@positiveplace.org

Meghan has worked for WBGC since the day after she graduated college, in June 1999.  She has been the administrative assistant, education director, program director, unit director, operations director, and is currently the associate executive director.  Meghan also spent time at her local Boys & Girls Club as a youth in La Habra, CA and her daughter is currently a WBGC member.  In 2004, Meghan was named Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Youth Development Professional of the Year for the Pacific Northwest, and has completed numerous trainings and professional certifications through the national organization.  She is a member of the Academy of Boys & Girls Club Professionals at the Youth Development Professional level and is currently the only Club employee in Washington State to be selected into the BGCA McCabe Leadership program.  She is a National Trainer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has taught at several national conferences in topics ranging from program implementation to guidance and discipline. Meghan's favorite Club memories include taking Club teens on trips to Idaho and California, and all of the Halloween Hooplas.  She believes in a mission-focused approach to Club programming and considers herself to be a "lifetime" member and believer of Boys & Girls Clubs.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two cats; travelling, especially long road trips; reading; and cheering at her daughter's Irish step-dancing competitions.

     
Adam Monda, Senior Program Director, amonda@positiveplace.org

Adam has worked at Wallingford Boys & Girls since January 1995. He has served the Club in many roles, including Lead Gamesroom Counselor, Assistant Child Care Director, Athletic Director and finally at his current position as Senior Program Director. Adam has a passion for youth development and making a difference in the community. He has a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Washington State University and is a career Boys & Girls Club professional. Adam enjoys greeting the kids as they enter the club, playing in the gym, and helping kids with their homework. In his spare time Adam likes to play guitar, spend time with family and friends, and travel.

     

Tiffany Walker, Education Director, twalker@positiveplace.org

Tiffany has worked at WBGC for over three years.  Before working at the Club she worked as an administrative assistant for a yearbook company and also as a receptionist for a chiropractic office.  She knew she always wanted to work with kids, and in September 2006 found a position at the Club.  Her favorite thing to do at the Club is running SMART Girls, a self-esteem and empowerment program for young girls.  Tiffany says she feels lucky to be able to go to a job that she looks forward to on Monday mornings.  She loves the staff, volunteers and especially the kids here.  In her free time she loves to shop, play darts and pool (or any other kind of competitive game), read a good book, or just generally hang out with friends and family. 

     

Augustine Williams, Teen Director, awilliams@positiveplace.org

Augustine has been the teen director at Wallingford Boys & Girls Club since June 2008.  Before he started working at the Club he taught at Zion Preparatory Academy.  While working at Zion, Augustine modeled for a Portland-based modeling agency which give him the opportunity to travel the world.  After seeing what the world had to offer, he chose to make a change and help people. He enjoys his job because every day is not the same day. Augustine says that the teens he works with are a great group of kids, who come from all walks of life, and he feels privileged to work with them everyday creating lasting memories.

     
Jen Crispino, Administrative Assistant, jcrispino@positiveplace.org

Jen started working at WBGC as a program staffperson in February 2006 while attending the University of Washington, majoring in English with a minor in Philosophy.  In February 2010, she was hired as the Administrative Assistant and is loving her new position.  Her favorite thing about working at the Club is interacting with a wide variety of kids, with an even wider variety of personalities, and being able to watch them grow.  Jen's favorite things in life are:  family and friends, going to the movies, finding a book she can't put down, playing board/card games, spinach and artichoke dip, trying out new foods and restaurants, and experiencing some new adventures, whether that be working on a chicken farm for a couple weeks or jumping out of a plane - of which she's done both.
