WBGC Kids Go "Under the Sea" for the 2009 Kiddies Parade
On July 11, 2009, about 50 Wallingford Boys & Girls Club members, families and staff took part in the 60th Annual Wallingford Kiddies Parade. Members at the Burke 45th Street Club had worked for several weeks designing 'waves' and sea creatures to carry in the parade. The designs were a big hit with parade onlookers, many of whom came forward to compliment the members on their designs. The Wallingford Kiddies Parade is the oldest Seafair parade event, and also includes a street fair afterwards. After the parade, WBGC held a four-hour open house for any neighbors interested in seeing what the Club has to offer. Parade-goers were invited to stop by for sno-cones, arts and crafts, and games. Approximately 25 non-members came to check out the Club. July 2009
