Starting in January 2012, we introduce Shawn Newkirk as the new Childcare Coordinator here at View Ridge.  Shawn brings 20 years of experience in childcare to the center and has worked at other places such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County, Everett Family YMCA, Community Day School Association, and the Stroum Jewish Community Center of Seattle.  Shawn has a bachelor’s in education from Eastern Washington University with minors in history and social studies.  Shawn has a laid back and fun personality and his office is always open for suggestions, comments, or just to say hi.  Shawn is very dedicated to the Boys and Girls Club from previous experience and providing a quality experience for the members is a high priority. 

Jaimie started her new position as Assistant Child Care Coordinator at View Ridge Boys & Girls Club in fall of 2011.  Jaimie began working with members at View Ridge Boys & Girls Club September 2010, but her experience with kids did not start there.  Jaimie has an extensive background in child care which began early on when she was old enough to assist her mom with her in-home daycare.  From there, Jaimie has worked at various childcare facilities, in several kindergarten classrooms and even as a sixth grade camp counselor.  Currently, Jaimie also does work for a non-profit organization that focuses on anti-human trafficking.  In her spare time, Jaimie enjoys reading, listening to classic rock music, spending time with her friends and walking her dog, Havarti, who she named after her favorite food, cheese.  Jaimie is very excited to take on this leadership role at View Ridge.  We are very lucky to have Jaimie here offering her wonderful childcare and leadership skills!
